Mike and Stephanie met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in September of 2012. Steph had some other plans earlier that day and was on the fence about attending. Boy, was she glad she did.  Little did she know, she would be meeting her future husband that evening. When Mike arrived, in his Bronco shirt, white khaki shorts, and tennis shoes, Steph knew instantly he was a man she wanted to get to know. He clearly had great taste in sports (Go Broncos!) and had such a charming smile that drew her in from the first moment she saw him.  There was an instant chemistry that she will forever be grateful for because it has lead them to where they are today…MARRIED!  Mike and Steph spent the entire night laughing, joking, and getting to know each other. Later that evening, their mutual friend from the party asked Steph to join them for their softball game the next day. They were always lacking in female players for their co-ed team, so Steph continued playing with them each Monday. It was a blast, and she was able to see Mike at every game.

The night of their last game, she was praying he would ask for her phone number so that they could continue to see each other. He did (at the very last minute…whew!), and the two went on their first official date on October 25, 2012. He took her to a delicious restaurant and then they ended their night at a Nugget’s game. He took the time to get to know her, he was a true gentlemen, and he made her smile ear to ear the entire night. The rest was history. They spent all of their free time together, learning more and more about each other as the days went on. They fell in love over that time and a few years later, Steph somehow convinced Mike to spend the rest of his life with her.

Mike and Stephanie have always enjoyed getting outside and hiking together. So it only seemed fitting that Mike would find a way to propose on top of a mountain. He bought the ring in May and held on to it until she could get a full weekend off from work. It took over three months for that to happen. Finally, the time came when they both had a free weekend together in August, just before summer ended. They invited a couple of friends to join them for a camping trip near Leadville, CO. And during that trip, the group planned to hike Mount Elbert—the highest peak in Colorado.  Once they reached the top, Mike’s secret plan was in full-force. The group of friends took a couple of photos with pure beauty in the background. After they all fueled up with water and snacks, Mike pulled Steph away to take one last picture of just the two of them. They wandered a few feet down, away from their friends and the 40 or so other hikers on the mountain. Mike got down on one knee and pulled out a white box. He spoke sweet, beautiful words and asked Steph to spend the rest of her life with him. She of course said, YES!  It was one of the most incredible moments of their lives.  After a few more minutes alone, they walked back up toward their friends, beaming with happiness and ear-to-ear smiles. Steph’s brother had a bottle of champagne waiting in his camelbak for the celebration. They were surrounded by very dear friends, and views that left you breathless. It was an unforgettable day that will lead to a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and love.

Mike and Stephanie’s wedding day was absolutely incredible! They were surrounding by the most amazing group of family and friends in the foothills of Colorado.  The Pines at Genesee was a perfect location and they were so grateful to have such a wonderful venue for their wedding.  Mike and Stephanie chose to do their first look, bridal party photos, and family photos before the ceremony so that they didn’t lose sunlight.  The Pines is surrounded by so many gorgeous backdrops which added extra adventure to their day!  Everything went off seamlessly.  Regan and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and helpful.   The Evergreen Terrace was their chosen ceremony site, and the guests absolutely loved it.  Many people commented on what a beautiful location this venue was. The ceremony was short, but sweet and drew out a couple of chuckles and tears in the crowd. It was everything they could have hoped for.  Once Mike and Stephanie sealed the deal with a kiss, they, their families and their friends danced the night away at the reception.  There was amazing food, great music, and the best dance moves around.  They had an absolute blast celebrating and enjoying the company of so many loved ones. It truly was the most perfect evening, and Mike and Stephanie couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin their marriage.
