How we met:
Jordan and Kyle met in 2010 while Jordan was visiting family in Colorado for the holidays, after recently graduating from San Diego State University and on her way back home to Kansas. One night, Jordan tagged along with her old brother and his friends for a night out. Lucky for her, Kyle was one of those friends. Kyle was so kind and welcoming to ‘the little sister tag-along’, and Jordan was instantly drawn to his fun, outgoing (and very loud), personality. They had so much fun together during that short period of time, and remained friends after Jordan returned back home to Kansas. Their friendship remained and they saw each other periodically over the years when Jordan would visit family and friends in Colorado. And as fate would have it, Jordan got accepted into DU law school and moved to Denver in 2012. Although their lives were on different paths during this time, they always kept in contact – and in the summer of 2014, they met again during a night out with mutual friends. From that night forward they’ve been inseparable! Although their journey has been long, it has been worth the wait – and they wouldn’t change it for the world! 🙂
In July of 2018, Jordan went on a much anticipated girl’s weekend to do some wine tasting in Palisade, CO. On the second day of the trip, the girls went on a daylong winery tour by horse and carriage. They had so much fun visiting vineyards and tasting all the different wines, that by the time they got to winery number 5, Jordan was blissfully unaware that anything out of the ordinary was happening on their all too convenient private tour of the winery. A few minutes into the tour, to Jordan’s complete shock and surprise, Kyle appeared from behind a large wine vat with a beautiful ring in hand. He knelt on one knee and proposed to Jordan, while her friends captured the whole amazing surprise on camera. They spent the rest of the night celebrating the engagement with their friends and even Jordan’s best friend who Kyle had secretly flown in from California. It was definitely a “girls” trip to remember!
The next 15 months was a whirlwind as they planned their wedding with their friends and family. They both love the beauty of Colorado and knew they wanted to get married somewhere they could enjoy it – and the Pines felt like the perfect place. Not only because of the beautiful scenery, but also how accommodating and at ease the staff made them feel while planning their very large wedding. Friends and family are the most important thing to Kyle and Jordan, so although planning a wedding for 200 people seemed daunting at times, their day would have been incomplete without all their supportive family and friends.
Jordan and Kyle both spent the wedding day getting ready with their friends at the Origin hotel at Red Rocks, before taking pictures with our wonderful bridal party in Genesee Park. October is always a risky month for the weather in Colorado, but luck was on Kyle and Jordan’s side that day. With temperatures in the 60’s, and beautiful sunshine, they could not have asked for better weather following the days of snow earlier that week!
The ceremony was officiated by Jordan’s brother, and was nothing short of perfect. Jordan and Kyle recited their own personal vows to one another, while the terrace was full of laughter, tears, and love. Afterwards, guests enjoyed a fun cocktail hour, before dinner and dancing began! The celebration was everything Jordan and Kyle could have asked for on the best day of their lives.
