Jaclyn and Justin started their journey together when they met working as RNs on the Burn/Trauma ICU in 2010. They spent the next five years traveling all over Colorado, hiking and skiing. After many more trips to various ski resorts across the United States, a torn ACL, and two job changes between the two of them, Justin proposed on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. Originally Justin had told Jaclyn they were traveling to Aspen for their 5 -year anniversary, and she was thrilled to get into the mountains and enjoy the hiking and solitude after a long week at work. So imagine her surprise, and truthfully slight disappointment, when Justin handed her tickets to hot, crowded, New York City. At first Jaclyn was not looking forward to the trip, thinking that what she thought might be a time when Justin would propose, was surely not going to happen after an expensive stay at the Waldorf Astoria. Jaclyn ended up loving New York City and all it’s people, and after a long and exciting day of sightseeing they headed to dinner across the Brooklyn Bridge, another item on their NYC bucket list. Jaclyn was hangry and was power walking across the bridge when Justin asked to stop for a photo with the New York skyline, something he rarely does. Jaclyn happily agreed, not wanting to ruin the moment despite her hunger. Justin then asked a stranger, a woman with two professional cameras around her neck, if she would take a picture. Again, uncharacteristic for Justin to ask a stranger for a photo op, Jaclyn was still none the wiser about what was happening. The woman said, “That looks great,” which was Justin’s cue to get down on one knee and propose in the middle of rush hour on the Brooklyn Bridge! Amidst tired New Yorkers on their way home from work, Justin popped the question while the photographer he hired and had secretly following them the whole way captured the priceless moment. Jaclyn was truly surprised and couldn’t be happier she reluctantly got on the plane to New York City, the place where she officially became a bride-to-be!

Pure romance is only one way to describe their fairy tale wedding day. Jaclyn and Justin got married on September 30th, 2017 under the glow of twinkle lights, surrounded by towering evergreens and all their closest friends and family. Photos from their ceremony captured the beauty of the fall leaves behind the bride as she walked down the aisle, only adding to the romantic ambiance created by the warm afternoon sun against the natural rock and dark benches. The bride had worried that not rehearsing at the venue would cause confusion on her wedding day, however the organization and precision established by her wedding coordinator Regan made the entire ceremony run smoothly. Regan ensured every detail was in place exactly as discussed and ensured that the bride and groom were able to enjoy their day rather than worry about timelines. She was excellent with family and guests and everyone raved about how wonderful she was at making them feel welcome and relaxed. The flyover during their ceremony by the Flight For Life Helicopter, a salute to Justin’s work as a flight nurse, provided entertainment for all and made their ceremony truly authentic.

Their wedding day will always be remembered as their fairy tale in the forest. The beautiful setting of the Pines and the effortless coordination of all the staff made Jaclyn and Justin feel like royalty. The warm glow of the setting sun on the Evergreen Terrace and the gentle breeze that sent pine needles toward the bride and groom as they said “I do” made their ceremony feel magical. They were worried about the looming rain clouds that threatened to take their ceremony inside, however Regan found a way to make the music happen and the rain held out until they were headed inside for the reception. It meant a lot for Jaclyn and Justin to have a private moment with their photographer during the day’s best light, and despite swaying from their timeline, Regan found a way for them share this time while the flow of the party never skipped a beat. This is when Jaclyn was truly able to relax and enjoy the time with her new husband, where their photographer captured it all with a beautiful rainbow in the background. The food was phenomenal and many guests complimented the various entrees. The party was hard to stop because the DJ kept it fun and exciting. Jaclyn and Justin still talk about how amazing their day was and love re-living it all through their beautiful photos.
